Home Learning

At Ellisor, parent involvement is vital to the growth and success of their student. We would like to partner with parents and encourage you to take an active approach in your child's learning. We've adopted the idea of Home Learning (vs. Home Work) to assist parents in helping their child at home.

Home Learning is a way students and parents can work together to reinforce skills taught at home. Students should not need reteaching, and the activities should take no longer than 30 minutes a night.

Some examples of Home Learning include: practicing sight words (games, sidewalk chalk, shaving cream, play dough, etc.), reviewing word study words, reading aloud to (and with) each other, building reading stamina, flash cards, etc.
