The Texas Bluebonnet Award is determined by the votes of 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students from across the great state of Texas. The Ellisor library has copies of current and past bluebonnet books. They may also be checked out at the public library. Third through fifth-grade students who read of 5 of the 20 current Texas Bluebonnet Books and complete graphic organizers for each, will be invited to the voting party in late January. Students should record the books they have read on the tracking chart provided by the library. Why stop at just five? Encourage your child to set a goal to read all 20 of the current titles.
Students enjoyed celebrating at the 2017 Texas bluebonnet voting party on January 29 where they selected Some Kind of Courage as their favorite. Texas students voted The Last Kids on Earth as their favorite of the 20 titles on the list.
